Olympic hopeful lures traffic to new SUV

General Motors Corp is sponsoring the US track and field team to the 2000 Summer Olympics, with focus on star athlete Marion Jones. Jones is expected to win five gold medals in the quadrennial event. The Detroit, MI-based automaker is tying the sponsorship to its new Envoy sport-utility vehicle. The campaign will include television spots, direct mail and Web advertisements.

Wrestlemania lures fans into the ring

The World Wrestling Federation (WWF) has spent $40 million for a marketing campaign for Wrestlemania 2000 which included TV, radio, direct mail, print, billboards, a blimp and e-mail. Direct mail pieces totaling 1.5 million requested viewers to order the event on pay-per-view and directed them to www.wwf.com, the WWF Web site, to get more details on the event. The piece included a listing of all the WWF pay-per-view events in 2000 and contained a gift-without-purchase offer for a videotape of 'Best of Wrestlemania I-XV.'

Real estate site seeks to drive traffic to its turf

Article Abstract:

SiteStuff.com, an e-marketplace for the commercial real estate industry, has launched a marketing campaign to attract senior executives of real estate agencies, property managers and maintenance managers to visit its site and hopefully turn them into registered users. The promotion includes print advertisements and a direct mail campaign that will start by Oct 2000. The company's ads have begun appearing in several publications in Sep 2000.
