San Diego County targets agriculture for sustainable organic resource management

Article Abstract:

Sa Diego County, which is number one in the U.S. for value of floriculture, nursery, and green house and sod products, is looking at agriculture for sustainable organic resource management. The county's main priorities include the need to return compost and mulch to region's farms to improve crop yields and reduce use of water and fertilizers.

Garbage becomes visual resource in bay area

Article Abstract:

The Artist-in-Residence Program at San Francisco aims at art made from trash to graphically prove the beauty and utility of recycling dump. Norcal Waste Systems founded the program in 1990 and it has involved 50 Bay Area artists who have completed residencies.

Clean power from microturbines using biogas

The first commercial microturbine project using biogas has demonstrated several advantages over small internal compulsion engine technology. Many project developers and plant operators are choosing microturbines for digester gas applications.
