A stearic acid-rich diet improves thrombogenic and atherogenic risk factor profiles in healthy males

Article Abstract:

Research describing the health effects of stearic and of palmitic acids in the dietary intake of healthy men is presented. Experiments have revealed that the presence of stearic acid in men's diet reduces cardiovascular risks and it is thus recommended to food industries.

The effect of diet on plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy male subjects

Article Abstract:

A study by Melbourne University looked at the impact of eating habits on the concentration of plasma homocysteine in healthy men. The study showed that hyperhomocysteinemia does not result from high meat consumption but that methionine consumption regulates cellular metabolism and brings about decreasing concentrations of homocysteine and reduced risk of vascular disease.
