Ski area commercial space distribution estimation

Article Abstract:

A mathematical model for space allocation in commercial ski resorts is presented. Results of applying the model to ski areas in New England and British Columbia show that the ratio of total commercial space to lift ratio is proportional to lodging capacity as well as to the distance from commercial areas. On the other hand, the ratio decreases in proportion to the distance from an interstate highway. The largest extension was received by bars when the total commercial space is increased.

The article examines the effect on emotional well-being of grandparents after losing contact with their grandchildren. Increase in depressive symptoms and adverse effect on emotional health is observed.
